Foil Sculpture & Alberto Giacometti

This lesson introduced students to sculpture and enabled them to understand form (Element of Art). In class we looked a numerous sculptures by Alberto Giacometti and then created the human form using foil. This lesson aimed to teach more than understanding form, it also gave the students the opportunity to express/communicate their own interests through sculpture. I love when art can tell me something about my students that I don’t already now. Each student’s sculpture showed their unique interests, it was wonderful to have a chance to learn more about them! I also love seeing them communicate visually!
